As I picked Oreo up from his semi-anual comprehensive exam yesterday (all is well with my little fluffball) I saw this truck with giant pictures of pups and cats on it - instant smile on my face! It was the Humane Society of Arizona's Waggin' Wheels adoption truck! I hadn't seen one before and thought it was such a cool idea.
Food trucks, move over. Hello adoption truck! |
The animals come to you, and they stay in their air conditioned crates on really hot days (basically everyday in Central AZ). Check their calendar for dates and locations.
I wish I could take them all. |
Our Oreo is a rescue dog, (hailing from Animal-Aid) and as our first fur-child, he holds a very special place in our hearts. He's sweet, caring, so hilarious, and protective of his new baby brother. It's wonderful to watch their relationship develop!
Oreo is a very wise & old soul, can't you tell? |
As many of you know, adopting pets is a much better option than purchasing one at a pet store (see links below). There are so many misconceptions about rescued animals, but with a little bit of research and some time spent with them I know you'll think differently! If you're not ready to adopt, these nonprofit organizations can ALWAYS use a volunteer hand. Here are some links to get you started on your research:
