Can't Live Without it: Travel Edition

I'm once again linking up with Cait, Laura and Stephanie to share my must-have travel item of the week. This time, it's all about comfort, a crucial part of traveling well!

For the last four years - since I purchased my first pair - TOMS have been my go-to shoes for traveling. I just retired the aforementioned ones when I was gifted a new pair similar to the ones above.

These shoes are the easiest to slip on and off (so important when traveling with a baby and going through airport security, for example) while still providing support and warmth, which most sandals and flip flops don't. Since I bought my first pair in 2011, the brand has definitely improved their classic canvas shoe - better arch support, half sizes and tons of cute new designs!

You bet I have a toddler pair waiting to be grown into.

The best part, however, is the humanitarian effort put forth by the company. It's well known that for each purchased pair of Toms, one is donated to a child in need. As the brand expanded, thankfully, so did their charity work. Toms has gone beyond one-for-one, also working to provide clean water, fair employment and my personal favorite, safe birth conditions for less fortunate folks around the world.

Definitely a brand I feel good about supporting! (Note that although this post contains affiliate links, it is not sponsored. Just a product I truly enjoy and support).

What are your go-to traveling shoes?

  6. I LOVE Tom's!!! They are so comfy!! Did you go to the Warehouse sale in March? I was out of town, but I went the first time and stocked up myself, my daughter and husband. And I really love that supporting them contributes to their amazing efforts in helping those who need it. Happy Mother's Day!

  8. Last fall, I took a trip with a group of my friends to Kyoto. When I took my bag out of the car, a small carry-on, all of the ladies were shocked! They couldn't believe that I, the "biggest" girl going, was taking such a small bag. It's just how I pack and ...

  9. I love Tom's but these are definitely not for places where it rains so bad! I made the huge mistake to take these with me during my spring trip to Tokyo and weather was so bad - I had water squeaking out of my shoes when I walk!
